Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 July 2026

Nudgee is a small family-built app that helps a child get through their routines one step at a time on an Apple Watch. The parent sets it up and stays in control. The child just follows the steps.

This is our single privacy policy. It covers everything: our website at nudgee.co and the nudgee app itself (the parent app on iPhone and the child app on Apple Watch). We have written it in plain language because you should not need a law degree to understand what happens to your family's data.

Two promises sit underneath everything below. We do not run advertising and we never will. We do not sell or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers. You are the customer. Your child is never the product.

Who we are

Nudgee is run from Australia by the small team of parents behind nudgee.co. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. That means we decide what data we collect and why.

If you have any question about this policy or your data, email us at hello@nudgee.co and a real person will reply.

The parent is in control of the app

The nudgee app is set up and run by you, the parent or legal guardian. You create the account, you type in the routines, and you decide what the app knows. Your child uses a watch that simply shows them one step at a time. Before you enter any detail about your child, we show you a short notice and ask you to confirm you are the parent or guardian and that you agree. We record that you agreed and when.

What we collect

We collect as little as we can, on purpose. Here is everything, split by where it happens.

From the website:

We do not collect any child's personal data through the website. The website is built for parents and other adults.

From the app:

We do not use any advertising or analytics tracking tools inside the app.

How and why we use your data, and our lawful basis

If you give us your email through a form on the site, we use it only to reply to you or send you the updates you asked for. The lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw any time by emailing us.

We use the app data only to run the app for you: to show your child their routine on the watch, to nudge them gently, to celebrate a finished routine and to show you their progress. Our lawful basis is the performance of the service you asked for, together with your consent, which you give when you set up your child in the app.

The lawful basis for basic site operation and security is our legitimate interest in running a safe website. We do not use your data to make automated decisions about you, and we do not profile you for advertising.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted service providers. They only process your data on our instructions, under contract, to run the service.

That is the whole list. We do not share your personal data with advertisers, ad networks or data brokers. We do not sell your personal data and we do not "share" it for cross-context behavioural advertising as those terms are defined under California law. We have never done this and have no plans to. We may disclose data if the law genuinely requires it, for example a valid legal request, but we will resist anything overbroad.

How long we keep it, and deleting everything

We keep an email address you give us on the site until you ask us to stop. Email hello@nudgee.co and we will remove you. Basic technical data from the website is kept only briefly and in a limited form.

We keep your app data for as long as you use nudgee. To delete everything, open the parent app, go to Settings and choose Delete Account. That permanently removes your account and all of your family's data: your child's name, every routine, all activity and points, the paired-watch records and the consent record. It cannot be undone. You can also email hello@nudgee.co and we will do it for you. If an account goes unused for a long time we may contact you and then remove it. We do not keep child data we no longer need.

Your rights

You have rights over your personal data. Which ones apply depends on where you live, but we try to honour the spirit of all of them for everyone.

If you are in the UK, EU or a similar regime, you have the right to:

If you are in California, you have the right to know what we collect, to delete it and to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of, but the right still stands. You also have the right not to be treated differently for exercising any of these rights.

To use any of these rights, email hello@nudgee.co. We will respond within the time the law allows, normally within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first, which usually just means replying from the email address we hold.

International data transfers

We are a small operator and some of our providers are based in other countries. For example Klaviyo is based in the United States, so your data may be processed there. When your data moves outside your own country we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses or an equivalent legal mechanism, so that your data stays protected to a similar standard. If you want detail on the safeguards for a specific provider, email us.

Children's privacy

The website is intended for parents and other adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children through nudgee.co. If you believe a child has given us their data through the website, email hello@nudgee.co and we will delete it promptly.

The app is different: it is built for a child to use, with a parent in charge. Because a young child uses it, we take children's privacy rules seriously, including the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the UK Age Appropriate Design Code and the GDPR rules for children in Europe. We collect as little as possible about your child, we never use their data for advertising, we never sell it, and the parent holds the account and can delete everything at any time. We do not let your child buy anything, message anyone or open web links inside the app.

Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections and stored with access controls so that only your account can reach your family's data. The watch signs in with its own limited credential that can read your routines and log activity but cannot change your account.

Cookies and analytics

We keep cookies and tracking to the bare minimum needed to run the site. We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand how many people visit and which pages are useful. It is privacy-friendly and cookieless: it does not use cookies, does not track you across other sites and does not build a profile of you. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party ad tracking. Our hosting may set essential cookies needed to deliver the site securely. The app does not use analytics or tracking at all.

Changes to this policy

As nudgee grows we will update this policy. When we make a meaningful change we will update the date at the top and, where it matters, ask parents to agree again in the app before they carry on. Please check back now and then.

How to contact us or make a request

For anything to do with your privacy, including using any of your rights, email us at hello@nudgee.co. We are a small team and we read every message.
